Living Kidney Donors Network (LKDN)
Digital Billboard Blip Initiative

In 2018 LKDN initiated a Billboard program to help those in need of a kidney transplant reach another audience with their message. The primary challenge was the cost, $750 – 1,000+ for 1 month was a major factor. There were other challenges too, the need for contracts, confusing design specifications and limited locations that were in someone’s budget.

LKDN is partnering with Blip for a new billboard program. What’s a Blip? A blip is an 8 second ad on a rotating digital billboard.

With Blip you choose your budget, there are no minimums or contracts to sign and designing your billboard is made simple. LKDN is working with Blip to make it easy and economical for you to purchase Blip billboard ads in the market you choose.

To increase the publics knowledge of living kidney donation LKDN has developed a blip campaign to educate the public about the need for living kidney donors. LKDN will concurrently place living kidney donation education ads in the market where your ads appear. To see the LKDN blip ad: click here.

Here’s an overview of the Blip program:

  • Blip’s digital billboards are located in most States. Click here to see Blip’s locations. A blip is an 8 second ad on a rotating digital billboard.
  • With Blip, you select the amount of money you want to spend, the location of billboard where it appears, the number and times it appears within a 2-hour timeslot.

LKDN has worked with Blip and developed 2 digital campaign options.

Option 1
For a budget of $150 you’ll receive the following:

  • Blip will work with you to develop a professional billboard ad that meets their design requirements. Your design will be delivered in 1 day. The $150 quoted includes $50 for the cost of designing the ad leaving $100 towards placing blips.
  • On average each blip ad costs $ .10, for the $100 you will receive 1,000 blips.
  • To compliment your Blip ad campaign LKDN will commit to placing 1,000 living kidney donation educational blip ads in your market. Click here to see the LKDN Living Kidney Donation blip ad.
  • LKDN will ask you to include the LKDN logo on your ad.
  • As a result of yours and LKDN blips, some people will come to the LKDN website looking for more information on your ad. If someone wants to see your ad there will be a list by city of everyone’s ad. Your ad will be shown along with your contact information. LKDN will also feature your ad on a rotating billboard on the LKDN home and Facebook page.

Option 2
For a budget of $300 you’ll receive the following:

  • Blip will work with you to develop a professional billboard ad that meets their design requirements. Blip will waive the $50 design fee. All of your $300 will be used to purchase blip ads.
  • On average each blip ad costs $ .10, for the $300 you will receive 3,000 blips.
  • To compliment your Blip ad campaign LKDN will commit to placing 1,000 living kidney donation educational blip ads in your market. Click here to see the LKDN Living Kidney Donation blip ad.
  • LKDN will ask you to include the LKDN logo on your ad.

This Blip initiative is just one way of getting the word out about your need for a kidney transplant. I often compare the experience you had in looking for employment as being similar to what you need to do for your Kidney Kampaign. There are many different methods you need to use to get the word out. The Blip initiative is just one idea.
